How does the CPAP trial work?

Contact us to request a trial, advising us of your contact details, your Doctor's name, and your prescription.

We will make an appointment for you at one of our locations, of approximately one hours duration.

You will be supplied and fitted with a suitable mask, and will be trained in fitting and cleaning of the mask. A wide range of mask types are available from which you can choose, and we will guide you and assist you in making the appropriate choice.

You will be set up with a late model Auto machine pre-set on fixed pressure at your prescription, or set on "auto" where appropriate. When you go to bed you will simply need to fit your mask and turn on the machine.

If you are having mask problems it is important to address them early in your treatment. We encourage you to contact us for assistance if this is the case. In some cases, we may conclude that you should try a different mask.

If you experience dry mouth symptoms, you should introduce humidification after the first night. Even if you don't experience the symptoms, you should experiment with and without humidification during your trial, to find your optimum comfort level.

At the end of the first week we will download from the machine to assess your treatment. The results will be explained to you and any necessary changes will be made. A report will also be forwarded to your Doctor. If you are unable to get to us, we may ask you to download the results to a data card and post them back to us for analysis.

After a further 2 weeks we will conduct a second download, and review your progress. You will be then be given the option of trying the other mode for the 4th week of your trial (fixed pressure or auto).

After 4 weeks we will conduct a final download and discuss your preference for fixed or auto treatment. At this stage you should settle on the equipment you will buy and you will be given an invoice. Your deposit will be credited against the invoice providing full payment is received within 2 months of the date you commenced your trial.

As a valued customer, you continue to be entitled to unlimited support for as long as you need it.

If you are not ready to make a purchase after the trial, you may extend your trial , but will be charged rent of $4 per day for any additional time.

If you elect not to purchase at the end of the trial, rent of $4 per day plus $100 service fee deducted from your deposit, along with any other incurred costs, and the balance will be refunded.
